From all the hype going into Katie Holmes' performance on So You Think You Can Dance, I expected some sort of Broadway spectacle that was going to blow me off my couch.

What I got was an okay song-and-dance routine that left me saying,"Ehhh."

Don't get me wrong, Katie looked fabulous performing "Get Happy" on the dance show's 100th episode but, compared to the ridiculously talented Top 8 dancers that performed, Katie paled in comparison.

But kudos for Kate for being brave and strutting her stuff -- even if we would have rather seen Melissa and Adae do the Hokey Pokey any day.

What did you think of Broadway Katie?

Are you excited to see Katie Holmes take the dance floor on So You Think You Can Dance?

Well, it seems you should be.

According to toughie choreographer Mia Michaels, Katie is killing it on set.

"She's really blossoming into a gorgeous triple-threat star," Mia said of the actress's moves for the 100th episode of So You Think You Can Dance. "So, I'm excited. I saw clips of it and it's brilliant!"

Katie will be the main focus of a Judy Garland tribute on July 23, and will be shaking her thing for a good cause. You see, SYTYCD has founded a new charity called The Dizzy Feet Foundation, which provides scholarships to young, aspiring dancers, and which has snagged Kate as celebrity sponsor.

"I called Tyce [Diorio, choreographer and friend of Katie's] up and I said, 'How would Katie feel about doing something on the show that would bring notoriety to a foundation?'" Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told People.com. "And he spoke to her, we then got together and Tyce, I and Katie met and discussed the whole thing, and I realized that she was so passionate about the project and I invited her to be a founding member of the whole foundation!"

So, Katie's on board to support the dancers. How fun for her to be showing her stuff on the show? I'm looking forward to it.

Though there hasn't been any confirmation that Katie Holmes will, in fact, be performing on an upcoming episode of So You Think You Can Dance, multiple sources are blabbing that it is definitely a go.

"She'll be doing a Judy Garland tribute," one insider said.

So, why Katie? And why would Katie even consider doing a little show like SYTYCD (which I adore, by the way)?

Seems it has a lot to do with the business of being married to Tom Cruise. You see, MGM (which helped Tom get his United Artists production company back up) is releasing Judy Garland's Wizard of Oz: 70th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition DVD in September, and what better way to showcase the legend's talent then to do a tribute to the late actress -- with a current big name.

Enter Katie.

"It's a lot of dots to connect, but for one, she's his biggest cheerleader, and she had her eye on the Weinstein Company's Judy Garland project, but (the role) went to Anne Hathaway," said another source. "She has talked about doing musical theater for some time now. And even though it feels strange that she'd do So You Think You Can Dance, it could be good for the next phase of her career."

So, Mrs. Cruise is just being the good wife -- while getting a chance to showcase her singing and dancing skills on national television.

How do you think Katie will do on a stage with some of the most amazing dancers in the country?

Suri Cruise's birthday celebration continued on Saturday, two days after her princess-themed party, with a giant trampoline in the backyard!

Suri's brother and sister, Conner and Isabella, joined her and mom and dad, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise for a little bounce-fest.

She's the cutest!

Suri Cruise is just growing up, literally, right before our eyes.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter celebrated her third birthday yesterday with a princess-themed party at her Los Angeles home. It was a small gathering filled with friends and family, and Suri got to blow out the candles on a cake that featured Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

"They just wanted to keep it small and make it fun for Suri and her friends," a source told People.com.

Sounds pretty normal! Happy Birthday, Suri -- you certainly are a princess.

kateiglamour.jpgYou may think you can push little Katie Holmes around, but say something bad about daughter Suri, and you're cruisin' for a bruisin'.

"Some of the stuff [people said] was such absolutely horrible things to say about a child," she says of nasty rumors about her daughter with Tom Cruise. "It was so uncalled for and so disgusting. Enough is enough."

Joey Potter says that she tried to keep it together right after Suri was born in 2006, but Tom was much better at letting it roll of his back.

"We were changing diapers. He said, 'I don't want you to get upset,'" Katie told the new issue of Glamour. "And I said, 'Well, I am upset.'"

"So we approached it together," she goes on. "But I definitely felt like -- as a woman, as the mother of Suri -- I want to handle this! My mom is very strong, and if anyone ever said anything about any of us, she would be, 'Excuse me? That's my family!'"

The mag then asked Katie what she would like to tell the heartless people who spread bizarre rumors about her fam.

"Sometimes I think I would say, 'Why don't you come over and have dinner? See what there is to see.'"

Um, okay! What time should I be there?

So, here's a totally cute photo of Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Suri and yes, even Connor Cruise at Walt Disney World in Florida.

While I do think Suri looks completely adorable in her princess dress, I really just had to post this pic because old Connor never gets any face time! Honestly, I think Mickey Mouse has made more appearances on this blog than he has.

Enjoy!

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes made their most of their stay in Brazil, as they got in some relaxation time at the beach with Suri, while in Rio for the opening of Valkyrie.

How do they expect Suri to take in the sights when her bangs are that long? I mean, seriously.

Tom Cruise echoed the world's sentiments as he spoke out on the death of Jett Travolta on Friday's episode of The View.

"It's just horrific," Tom told Barbara Walters and the ladies, of Jett's parents John Travolta and Kelly Preston. "Here you have a man, both of them doting parents, they're wonderful people and ..."

"I remember Jett when he was born," the actor said. "I saw him when he was just a few months old and John just adored him, and both of his children, and Kelly.

"I just don't have the words for it," a choked up Tom said.

That's exactly it. No words.

"If I'm worried about anything, it's if she [Katie] can keep up with me. I'm very active...jumping on couches and whatnot."

-- Tom Cruise, to The Sun, on wanting "10 children" with wife Katie Holmes, and, perhaps, her not being on the same page.

As Katie Holmes celebrated her 30th birthday in NYC yesterday, her hubby Tom Cruise was across the country at the LA premiere of his new flick Valkyrie. But did you think that would stop him from sending her a big b-day surprise?

As Kate finished up her nightly performance of All My Sons, the cast and crew brought out a specially-made birthday cake courtesy of Tom.

"Tom Cruise, our good friend, devoted fan to the show, doting husband of Katie, could not be here tonight," Katie's costar John Lithgow told the audience. "He's heartsick that he couldn't be here ... but he wanted to make his presence felt. So, he's joining us, inviting all of you, to celebrate Katie's birthday."

Katie brought Suri out on stage, where everyone joined in for a resounding rendition of "Happy Birthday," then she and her little girl blew out the candles.

"Thank you for coming out to the show tonight," a truly surprised Katie said. "It was a real pleasure."

While the theater emptied, the cast and crew continued to party, eating cake and sipping champagne, all provided by Mr. Cruise himself.

Cute and sweet or over-the-top and barf-worthy?

What? Your Facebook feed has forgotten to remind you that today is both Brad Pitt and Katie Holmes' birthdays? Blasphemy!

Luckily for you, you have the Blabber to remind you!

Yes, today Brad turns 45 (damn, he looks f-i-n-e), while Kate hits the big 3-0!

So, what should we gift them?

Perhaps some extensions for Katie, so she can go back to looking her age? Or a massage, maybe? Because that girl's back must be killing her from schlepping Suri all around NYC every day.

As for Brad, the man who has everything, I would think he would need some peace and quiet with all those kids running around. A weekend at one of those Zen spas with Angelina, perhaps? Where the only sounds you hear are water trickling and people saying "Ohm." Or maybe a new electric razor because, well, you know.

However they decide to spend their big days we hope that it's just fab! Send them your gift suggestions/birthday wishes below!

Tom Cruise and Matt Lauer sat down, once again, for an interview on The Today Show, and unlike their previous meeting in 2005, there were no uncomfortable confrontations, or any sort of "glib" comments.

"Let's set the record straight," Matt said while introducing Tom. "This is not Rocky II. There is no rematch about to happen."

In fact, it was pretty obvious that Tom and Matt had cleared the air a while back, settling in to an easy interview between the two. Tom actually said that he felt the way he handled their previous chat was a mistake and expressed that "that's not the way I am. That's not the person I am."

"I learned a lesson," the Valkyrie star said. "I think I learned a really good lesson."

On the topic of lessons learned, Matt pointed out that Tom is no longer jumping on couches over wife Katie Holmes (at least not on national television), but is he still over the moon about her?

"She's an amazing woman," he smiled.

And will they be giving Suri a playmate anytime soon?

"I think that's a question for the women," Tom said.

Hmmm. A question only for Katie? Interesting...

That's totally Tom's way of making it look like he's not pulling Katie's strings. Or is Tom hinting that he's really not Suri's father and has no part in the baby making process? (Let's not get started on that again!)

So, granted, it was a much lighter interview this time around, but, honestly, still a tad bit creepy.

Set your DVRs for the Today show on Monday, as Tom Cruise will sit down, once again, for a chat with Matt Lauer.

Tom and Matt had that infamous verbal scuffle three years ago, when Tom called Matt "glib" in a tension-filled interview about psychiatry and the use of anti-depressant drugs. The two have since buried the hatchet, and Tom will be back in Matt's hot seat to talk about his new flick, Valkyrie

No doubt they'll be plenty time spent on the actor's family as well, and how fabulous everything is with Kate Holmes, Suri, and those other kids.

Okay, so the only thing interesting about this piece of celebrity gossip is that Chris Klein was Katie Holmes' main man before she went and became Kate Cruise.

Chris and his most recent girlfriend, Big Love star Ginnifer Goodwin, have called it quits after dating for two years. A friend of the couple told People.com that Chris and Gin parted ways as pals, after realizing that "they wanted different things."

"In the long run, the relationship wasn't going to work," the insider said.

Do you think Katie still has his number? Maybe she could use it....

katienytcover.jpgKatie Holmes is not who you think she is.

Well, that's what she's telling T: The New York Times Style Magazine, anyway.

"There's a misperception about me that I just became this wallflower, this woman who doesn't have any control of her life," Kate, who's only 29, says of herself since marrying Tom Cruise in 2006. "And that's pretty wrong. From the very beginning, I've made choices in my life that have been very strong. "

Kate does say that she was absolutely smitten with her hubby when they first met -- and that she had all those silly dreams we all had while watching Top Gun in the '80s.

"When I met Tom I was completely in love," she gushed. "And, yes, I admired him growing up - he's Tom Cruise! ... When I met him, he was so warm and I thought, Wow! You can be a superstar and a human being. He made me feel so amazing."

Tom, who was also interviewed for the same issue, said it was love at first sight for him, as well.

"I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her," he says. "After our very first date, I was sure. At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I cut her off by changing the subject. I wanted to ask her."

I kinds can't believe Katie would have asked him -- can you?

Anyway, little Joey Potter is all grown up, and says that she's got no regrets about the new world she's living in.

"My life has expanded. My family and friends are all part of this bigger life."

And as for the consistent talk that she's Tom's robot and under some kind of spell, Suri's mom says she just can't be bothered.

"I have too much to do," Katie, who is currently starring on Broadway in All My Sons, said. "I'm a mom and an actress with a play to do every night. I can't pay attention to all that noise."

Do you believe her?

That's a lot of star power in one photo!

Close fams The Beckhams and The Cruises spent their turkey day together, taking in a Thanksgiving Day performance of the Big Apple Circus in NYC on Thursday.

Victoria and David held their boys, Cruz, Romeo, and Brooklyn, close, as Tom and Katie carried little Suri from the tent at Lincoln Center. The night before the two couples had dinner together and Posh and Becks caught Katie's performance of All My Sons.

Just like one big, happy, very rich family.

The people at Forbes are at it again, tapping away at their lists. This time they are ranking the most popular celebrity spawn --perusing more than 50 of the most popular, all 5 and under.

So, who's in the No.1 spot on "The 10 Hottest Celebrity Tots" list?

Suri Cruise, of course.

"Suri's first place ranking on the list comes from strong performances across the board. She earned the top spot for public awareness," Forbes peeps said of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' girl. "[Suri] received more blog mentions than any other Tinseltown kiddie and was referenced in more than 1,300 news articles."

Wow -- that's some good press.

But don't feel bad for Brangelina's brood -- Shiloh, Zahara, and Pax came in as Nos. 2, 3, & 4, respectively, with Tiger Woods' daughter, Sam Alexis, rounding out the top 5.

Here's the complete list of the Top 10 -- who's your fave?

Suri Cruise
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt
Zahara Jolie-Pitt
Pax Jolie-Pitt
Sam Alexis Woods
Cruz Beckham
Matilda Rose Ledger
David Banda
Sean Preston Federline

Suri Cruise sampled some pie at the Union Square Market this weekend in NYC, with mom Katie Holmes.

So sweet! Suri, I mean, I haven't tasted the pie.

I really was contemplating making Tom Cruise the Cute Dad of the Day, but Suri is just so much cuter than he is these days!

Those long bangs in her eyes! That dress! Her blankey! Those shoes!

If I think back to many, many years ago, there was a time when, if Tom Cruise was anywhere in my sight, all other things in the vicinity just disappeared. Now I just sort of wish he would.

Okay, from shopping mom to jazz-singing flapper, Katie Holmes transforms from her every day life, in her upcoming guest stint on ABC's Eli Stone.

Watch this clip of Kate being sexy and tell me what you think. I felt slightly uncomfortable.

katiesuribag.jpg

Here's a really cute photo of galpals Katie Holmes and daughter, Suri Cruise, taking a stroll in NYC, complete with matching orange Hermes bags.

I have to admit that I am slightest bit ticked that I'll probably never be able to shop there -- and, my guess is, that this isn't Suri's first purchase.

Sigh, what can you do, right?

katieholmesbdwy.jpgSee, now this just makes me feel bad for Katie Holmes.

As Katie prepared for her opening night on Broadway, a group of masked, anti-Scientology demonstrators staged a protest outside the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City, where Kate is starring in All My Sons. The group, Anonymous, consisted of about 20 people, who shouted, "We are not boycotting Katie, we are not boycotting the play, we are protesting Scientology. It is evil. Scientology kills people. It follows you home at night. It is perverted.”

Apparently this was a planned event, as organizers of the group had told UsMagazine.com weeks ago, “We are going to be there not only in protest of The Church of Scientology. We would love to see Katie Holmes get away from this evil cult before it's to late."

What bugs me about this is that it was Kate's opening night on Broadway -- she'll never have that first time again -- and it has to be overshadowed by these people. Couldn't they have waited until tonight to do it? At least let her get all of her nerves out.

I may have to show up outside the theater tonight with my own "We're Not Gonna Protest!" sign.

evalongoriapregnancyrumors.jpgHey, it's been a while since we've speculated on who might be hiding a pregnancy, so let's get to it.

First off, the never-ending buzz that Eva Longoria Parker and hubby Tony Parker are expecting is almost deafening now, since Eva is no longer wasting away. The actress has said that she packed on pounds for her Desperate Housewives role, but recent pictures show Eva looking particularly round in the baby bump area.

Other signs: DH's head honcho, Marc Cherry, revealed that the couple were "desperately" trying to have a baby, and Eva and Tony were in Vegas this weekend, where Eva reportedly stayed away from sushi and alcohol. Hmmmm......

On to Katie Holmes, who's been seen out and about in NYC, while preparing for her stage role in All My Sons. Katie's been wearing those big, baggy jeans and flowing tops, and, maybe, just maybe, she could be sporting a little bit of a baby belly. Then again, Tom Cruise's wife is an avid lover of cupcakes, and her favorites are said to be from one NYC bakery. So maybe she's just taking advantage of her new locale while it lasts, and is feasting on buttercream as often as she can.

starprincesses.jpg

Look at the new cover of Star!

It's Shiloh Jolie-Pitt in one corner and Suri Cruise in the other, as the mag details the life of Hollywood's Little Princesses.

For those of you  who don't want to squint here's how the tab breaks down the lives of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's little lady vs. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' babe:

Shiloh's Life

  • Hand-me-downs
  • Cookie monster
  • Twin dollies
  • Free spirit

Suri's Life:

  • $$$ Designer duds
  • Still a bottle baby
  • Security blanket
  • Calls the shots

And though I can't believe I sitting here think about which two-year-old I'd rather be, I'm going to have to admit that I'm on Team Shiloh. You?

katietomtropic.jpg

Okay, okay, so I've been hard on Katie Holmes lately, or so you all say, so I'm taking the high road this morning and posting a pro-Katie entry. Mrs. Tom Cruise flew back to LA from New York yesterday, just so that she could walk the red carpet with her hubby, at the Tropic Thunder premiere.

Kate doesn't look pregnant (she looks slim and sexy in her blue dress), she doesn't look miserable (she was all smiles for the cameras), and she's not wearing Tom's jeans.

I still hate her hair, though. Sorry. And Tom's sneakers? Way too white.

That's the best I can do.

katieholmespreg.jpg

Katie Holmes recently admitted to wearing hubby Tom Cruise's clothes, which has (of course) started people buzzing that TomKat may be expecting another little kitten.

But here's a brand new photo of Katie in NYC, not looking a bit preggers to me, but certainly not looking happy.

What's going on with her? Is she miserable over her new short haircut (Lord knows I would be)? Is she not able to breathe in those extremely high-waisted pants that, for the love of Pete, I hope are not Tom's? Is rehearsing for this play not all it was cracked up to be?

I don't know, but Katie has never looked more somber.

katieholmeseli.jpgNo, it's not a Dawson's Creek reunion, though I would love me some Pacey right about now, but Katie Holmes will return to the small screen come this fall, as Mrs. Tom Cruise will be guest-starring on Eli Stone.

Why would Kate choose this particular show to flex her stunt-casting muscles? Well, she's a girl who knows where she came from apparently, as her Dawson's Creek executive producer Greg Berlanti currently works on the ABC show.

"Greg worked with her on Dawson's Creek and was very nice in saying she was doing us a huge favor," Stone costar Julie Gonzalo told E! News.

"We met her on Monday, and she's working today," Julie said of Kate. "She's playing a lawyer."

"She just appeared in the seat (at the table read)," added show regular Loretta Devine. "She's very quiet. Then Tom Cruise came with the baby and we left. We missed the whole thing."

As you already know, Katie will be heading to New York later this month to prepare for her Broadway debut this fall in Arthur Miller's All My Sons.

Big screen, small screen, live theater, paddling down the creek and climbing into Dawson's window -- is there anything she can't do?

tomkatiehomebash.jpgDoing what good exes in the public eye should always do, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes sent tons of gifts along to new mom Nicole Kidman and baby girl Sunday Rose.

According to People.com, TomKat sent Nic a huge basket full of fancy baby loot, from them and Tom and Nicole's two children together, Connor and Isabella. In said basket was reportedly lots of really expensive stuff that you and I would never find at Babies R Us, like chenille Giraffe baby blankets and items from the Hermes baby line.

What? No cupcakes, Katie? You are really slipping...

It's the war of the words between Celebrity Rehab's Dr. Drew Pinksy and everyone's favorite Scientologist, Tom Cruise. You see, Dr. Drew told Playboy that Tom's interest in the somewhat questionable faith is "a function of a very deep emptiness and suggests serious neglect in childhood – maybe some abuse but mostly neglect."

Well, Tom freaked out and his lawyer, Bert Fields, contacted the New York Post's Page Six, shooting back, that the doc is an "unqualified television performer who is obviously just looking for notoriety [and] is so grotesquely unprofessional as to pretend to diagnose Tom and others without ever meeting them.

"He seems to be spewing the absurdity that all Scientologists are mentally ill," the attorney added. "The last time we heard garbage like this was from [Nazi propagandist] Joseph Goebbels."

Since getting slammed by Tom's peeps, Dr. Drew's rep released a statement to UsMagazine.com saying that Drew "meant no harm" and "apologizes if his comments were hurtful." He went on to say, "Although Mr. Field’s intent is clearly to slander and discredit Dr. Drew, under no circumstances is Dr. Drew making a blanket diagnosis about Scientology nor Mr. Cruise whom he does not know. Dr. Drew was simply using Mr. Cruise as an example of someone who is recognizable to help the public understand. Again, Dr. Drew meant him no harm."

Who's side are you on? I'm thinking Dr. Drew was out of line. Guess you won't be seeing Tom on Dr. Drew's couch anytime soon -- even though he really loves the couches.
