Much to the dismay of children everywhere, most of August is filled with lots of back-to-school shopping.
Jennie Garth, who plays a high school guidance counselor on 90210, is getting ready for the school supply craze with her three daughters, Luca, 12, Lola, 6, and Fiona, 2. She has one major maternal flaw, though.
"I can never seem to provide enough socks for my kids," she joked. "I don't know if the washing machine eats them or if they just magically disappear somewhere between the car and the house."
Hmm...sounds familiar. This fall will be an especially big one for Jennie and her girls, as little Fiona will be starting Pre-K. Like most mothers, Jennie seems to be more nervous than her daughter!
"I am the mom that stays in the back hiding. She's going to school where my other two daughters went to school, and they let me stay as long as I need to," she says. "It's not even about Fiona; it's about me and getting through my separation issues."
We're sure Fiona--and Jennie--will be very brave on the first day of school.
Now that season five of So You Think You Can Dance has come to an end, Fox is filling its spot with a two-hour special on Nadya Suleman, the octuplets and her six other children.
"It's a little bit of a train wreck, and it's really entertaining to watch," says Mike Darnell, the head of Fox's reality-TV division.
Audiences will get an intimate glimpse into Nadya and her children's lives through interviews and footage taken over the past seven months. Fox promises "emotional struggles, physical complications and financial burdens."
With all of the Jon & Kate Gosselin drama, I think I've had my fill of family-themed reality TV messes. This does sound interesting, though. The special will air on Fox on August 19. Will you be watching?

I didn't think Joe Jackson could get any creepier, but he's managed to prove me wrong.
Michael Jackson's father is reportedly planning on sending MJ's three kids on tour in 2010! Ian Halperin, a biographer who wrote about Michael's life, told The Sun Newspaper that these rumors have been confirmed by a family friend.
"Joe wants the children to go on a world tour in 2010," Halperin claimed, "He has also already offered recording contracts to two of Michael's kids."
Up until his death, Michael's children --Prince Michael I, 12; Paris Michael Katherine, 11; and Prince Michael II (Blanket), 7-- were deliberately kept out of the public eye. I'm pretty sure this is the last thing he would have wanted for them.
Someone needs to stop Joe Jackson ASAP!
Oh no! I hate when babies get sick.
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber's son Alexander was hospitalized overnight on Tuesday.
The boy, 21-months-old, had some respiratory issues but, luckily, he was released on Wednesday morning.
"Sasha [his nickname] got home today and is feeling much better after being hospitalized on Tuesday night with respiratory problems," a rep for Naomi said in a statement to Access Hollywood.
Liev had flown home to see his fam, from the set of Salt, when his son got sick.
Hopefully all is well with them now.
This is just legend - wait for it - ary.
How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan is a mama of her own, as she and husband Alexis Denisof welcomed a baby girl on March 24 (which is also Alyson's b-day!).
The baby's name?
Satyana Denisof.
"They're very excited, and mom and baby are doing great," says a rep for the actress.
I was just watching HIMYM last night and wondering how much longer they were going to be able to hide Lily's pregnancy -- how many props can they put in front of that girl's belly?!
So happy for Lilypad and her real-life Marshmallow.
Plus: See which others stars have become new moms this year!
I would love to tell you that Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is a born star -- and that you can see the two-year-old's incredible talent by watching this preview of her dad's new movie -- but I'd be lying.
Shiloh is making her big screen debut in the previews for Brad Pitt's new film The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons. The tot is on screen for a millisecond (at 1:22), as her pops holds her in his arms and they watch a balloon float away. The shot is taken from such a distance that it could, pretty much, be me that Brad is cradling.
In addition, I almost have no idea what this movie is about from the preview -- and if it is supposed to make me want to see it, yeah, it's not working. Watch and tell me what you think.
